Rentals, Sales, Service and everything else Marina

RENTALS:
Sometimes you win and others times are exasperating. Tonight I spent 3 hours looking for a boat rental that called in at 8:30pm having run out of gas... They made it to shore and called just minutes after having reported the incident to the OPP. One good thing they were only a 10 minute drive away and all aboard were safe. Will have to get the boat to tomorrow morning. No money in that rental.

SALES
I have been busy trying to get everything done between rain showers and it at times a little trying!

SERVICE Ditto..

All in all the weekend is here. Take advantage of out boat rental special and don't forget to to buy your button for the Rice Lake Lake Spring fishing festival. So far there are two prize winners bot still many more prizes to be caught

The Rice Lake Spring Fishing Festival and Walleye Season STARTED TODAY

Celebration Day May 14th

Although it was a soggy Vancouver day here on Rice Lake, that wasn’t enough of a deterrent for some die hard walleye anglers on the season opener. We were fairly busy here at the Marina with boat rentals and seasonal dockers’ requiring assistance. It was a toss up if it was successful or not, as usual “some were lucky others were NOT.

Not only was today a red letter day for walleye but this was the start of the RICE LAKE SPRING FISHING FESTIVAL! So far all tagged fish are still out there as of 7:02 PM on the opener.

Get your rain gear out if you plan to go out in the next several days because the weather man is saying that we can expect more RAIN. Oh Joy.

Recovering after the Storm The winds were unreal

Our area was hit with winds clocked at about 100KMH. There was all kinds of damage around us. Trees on buildings, trailers knocked off of their footings, and add-a-rooms were destroyed.

The wind was so strong that it almost blew me off the dock when we were trying to move boats.
The barge was shifted, a couple docks were moved and some damage was done but all in all we were spared. While others lost docks and suffered more damage than we did it was still a harrowing experience. All of this while we are still trying to get caught up from all the wind and rain.

Our troubles are only a minor inconvenience compared to the devastating storms they have been experiencing in the southern states. After experiencing the wind we had on Thursday and being without electricity for 12 hours gave me a different view on what the survivors of the tornadoes down south are suffering through. My heart goes out to them.

On a lighter side The Ontario Chinese Anglers Association held their Crappie and Perch tournament here on Saturday. There was a good turnout and the weather was most cooperative. Approximately 10 boats launched and there were several happy faces at the weigh-in.
It was a pleasure to have the Association here and I hope to see them again in the future.

The Rice Lake Spring Fishing Festival is now only days away It Starts on May 14th. It is time to start getting ready. First by purchasing a button either from us or go on line at www.ricelakespringfishingfestival.ca and follow the links.
